Jon Wroten founded California Risk Advisors, LLC as the logical way to employ his broad self-insurance industry experience as California’s former Chief Regulator and a senior executive in third-party administration.Jon additionally serves as a Senior Vice President with The PATH Alliance.
In his former role as Senior Vice President at Sedgwick Claims Management Services, the global leader and largest TPA in the world, he led national initiatives for improving both regulatory compliance and quality. Prior to joining Sedgwick, Jon was the Chief of the California Office of Self Insurance Plans (OSIP) where he oversaw and regulated the nation’s largest self-insurance workers’ compensation marketplace with responsibility for $22 billion in risk exposure, protecting 4.6 million California workers representing over $192 billion in annual payroll. As Chief, Jon served as a Trustee of the California Self Insurers’ Security Fund (SISF) where he was responsible for policy, risk management, and oversight of a $9 billion collateral guarantee program and management of the $250 million claims portfolio safety net protecting injured workers.
An entrepreneur from an early age, Jon started his first company Security Resources Corporation while he was a Sacramento County deputy sheriff. Jon grew Security Resources to 1,200 employees and was twice honored as an INC500 CEO. Jon taught entrepreneurship, risk management and insurance as an adjunct professor for fifteen years at Sierra College. Jon has served as Chairman of the Safety Center of California, and a Director of the CAHP Credit Union and Junior Achievement. Jon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Golden Gate University and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
